About the Author

Deuce Deonarine is the author of Crimson Shadows and the founder of Studio Modeboogie. The Calysandor Chronicles started life as a dream to build an RPG video game — a world meant to be played, not read. But building a game like that isn't a one-person job, and Deuce is only one person. Rather than let the world die in a folder of unfinished design documents, the stories became novels instead.

Before turning to fiction, Deuce spent years behind the bar and behind an IT help desk, learning firsthand that both jobs run on the same skills: staying calm when everything's on fire, reading people quickly, and knowing that the best stories are the ones built on timing, character, and a willingness to let things get messy before they get better. Crimson Shadows is the first novel to come out of that shift — proof that a world doesn't need a game engine to come alive, only someone stubborn enough to keep telling it.
